The Bible is an epic mega-story or sacred story book which includes many smaller stories. God-inspired stories comprise 50-75% of the Bible.
Why do we need a Whole Bible Story?
– To provide context for better understanding the smaller stories of the Bible
– To better understand Jesus as the Messiah/King who fulfills the Story of the Bible/Israel
– To more clearly see God’s persistent, enduring love for people throughout the entire story
How have people presented The Whole Bible Story?
– Bible in 30 Minutes (BibleTelling, John Walsh)
– Bible in 10 Minutes (Chuck Broughton)
– Bible in 30 Days (Unlocking the Bible, Colin S. Smith)
– Narrative (BibleTelling, John Walsh)
– The Gospel in Chairs (various ministries, Origami chair-folding instructions)
– The Bible in a Box (Jackson Wu)
– The Bible in Covenants
– The Bible as a Progression (Sandra L. Richter)
– Jesus as a True and Better… (Sermon video, Tim Keller)
– “He Is” song (Aaron Jeoffrey & Jeff Sivey)
– The Story of the Bible (the Bible Project)
– An Overview of It All (Mickie O’Donnell)
